Deep within the various layers (Koshas) of being human, each of us has a unique code that expresses itself as light. Yoga says, that this spark of light is an expression of the infinite ocean of consciousness. But that consciousness, or light, gets covered by the 5 bodies or sheaths that Yoga calls the Koshas. These 5 sheaths are not separate to one another. They do not exist in isolation - they exist on a continuum and explain our multidimensionality. Understanding each Kosha is imperative if we want to understand ourselves more fully. As multidimensional beings we need multidimensional practices - enter YOGA & The Koshas.
About the Course
Yoga & The Koshas was originally delivered as a 6 Week Course but can be taken at your own pace over 12 months.

An overview of Patanjali’s 8 Limb Path beyond the basics, as a framework for exploring Yoga
An in-depth overview of The Panchamaya Kosha Model

Intro to Ayurveda & the body
An introduction to the Prana Vayus
The Antahkaranas (Vedantic map of the mind)
Linking Samkya Philosophy, the 8 Limbs & the 5 Koshas
Mantra
An embodied exploration of each of the 5 Koshas, through participation in recorded + personal practices, lectures, Q & A discussion, and self-study/reflection

General Hour Break Down per week (if done over 6 weeks)
3-4 hours of lecture content (theory)
1-3 hours of recorded practices (practical) including mantra, asana, pranayama, meditation and contemplation
1 hour of reading/writing/contemplating
approximately 8 hours total per week

If you would like a certificate of completion, you will be expected to complete a quiz including some written reflections about your experiences and learnings upon completion of the course material.
Suggested Course Pace:
I recommend you take this course over 6 months
this way you can repeat the “weekly practices” multiple times over the month, to really embody them
You can then work through “1 week” of lecture and reading content each month for 6 months.
This gives you a chance to repeat the whole process again, or to revisit practices/lectures as you wish for the 12 month access period.
Continuing Education (CED) Hours for RYT (Registered Yoga Teachers):
This course is registered as a Continuing Education (CED) Course with Yoga Alliance. If you are already a RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) then you can use this course as 50 hours towards your Continued Education.
In order to fulfil the CED requirements and obtain a certificate of completion you are required to participate (by watching) all recorded sessions, commit to recommended practice hours, and complete a quiz when you have completed all course material.
I highly suggest attending the 3x live sessions, as often the best way to learn is by asking questions and hearing other peoples questions. If you cannot attend the live sessions, the recordings will be available for you to watch.
Note: you do not need to be a RYT to participate in Yoga & The Koshas. You will still be eligible for a certificate of completion upon completing all course requirements.

Yoga & The Koshas is an Online Course for Yoga teachers and practitioners. The course begins November 5, 2022 and is registered with Yoga Alliance as a 50hr CED Course. It can be taken as a 6 week immersion or in your own time. Content is pre-recorded, with 3x live sessions for Question, Answer & Connection. You will have access to the content for 12 months from the start date.
